Voting-room cellphone notice
This review compares the wording on a Boyle County polling-place sign with the Kentucky authorities it cites and the current State Board of Elections guide.
Does Kentucky law really say a cell phone can only be used for a ballot selfie?
The notice says cellphones may only be used for a ballot selfie. CAP's review of KRS 117.236, 31 KAR 4:170, OAG 16-007, and Kentucky's 2026 election-officer guidance found narrower rules addressing voter identities, electioneering, ballot privacy, and permitted ballot selfies. We have not found the blanket “only” rule in the authorities printed on the sign.
